Anniversary Celebration 2026

History Timeline March 2026

Baylor Round Table Anniversary Celebration

1904 – Beginning

Seven women associated with Baylor University organize a women’s literary and social club. They meet twice monthly and host a variety of programs.

1912 - Early Celebrations

The first gathering of guests for a musical Christmas celebration takes place. The following year, members begin marking club anniversaries with a party.

1937 – Fall Welcome

The annual fall membership reception is introduced, welcoming new and returning members alike after the summer break.

1957 - Global Gathering

Members begin hosting international students for dinner. This evolves into an International Thanksgiving Dinner, a gathering of students, faculty, staff, and Round Table members.

1963 - Full of Flair

The executive board and social committee organize a style show to accompany the luncheon being held at the last program meeting of the year.

1978 - Giving Back

The Baylor Round Table Student Scholarship is first awarded. Fundraising efforts throughout the year support the scholarship endowment.

2026 - Going strong

Today, Baylor Round Table is a thriving organization with over 100 members. It continues to foster intellectual curiosity, fellowship, and service.

Anniversary 2026

 Happy Anniversary BRT

Founded on March 3, 1904, Baylor Round Table began as a women’s literary and social club formed by seven Baylor women and has grown into a vibrant organization,  intellectual curiosity, friendship, and service    Baylor University. From early literary presentations to traditions like Membership Tea, Christmas gathering, Anniversary celebrations (begun in 1930!), International Thanksgiving Dinner, and Spring luncheon and Style Show, Round Table continues to  offer meaningful programming alongside opportunities for fellowship. Service remains central to Round Table’s mission. Early fundraising for  books and wartime relief efforts evolved into initiatives like establishing  its first  student scholarship in 1978, a tradition of giving that continues today.
