Scholarship Recipients 2024-2025
At the May Scholarship Luncheon and Style Show, Baylor Round Table proudly announced Rebekah “Bekah” Cox and Jingtong “Wendy” Hu as scholarship recipients for the 2024-2025 academic year. Both young women possess near perfect grade point averages, actively participate in their faith communities, and demonstrate impactful campus involvement.

An elementary education major, Rebekah “Bekah” Cox hails from Lithia, Florida, and will graduate in December 2025. She’s currently student teaching third grade math and science in Waco ISD at Bell’s Hill Elementary School which she describes as “extremely fulfilling.” Last summer, she worked in Baylor’s Talent Identification Program (TIP) summer camp for gifted and talented middle and high school students.
An active member of Alpha Chi Omega, Bekah sang and danced in All University Sing and in Pigskin Revue at Homecoming. She continues as a Community Group Leader at Highland Baptist Church. Additionally, this outstanding young woman serves as a Recruitment Ambassador for Undergraduate Admissions where she talks with prospective students about “why I love Baylor and why they should find their home here” and recently trained 30 new Ambassadors. After earning her bachelor’s degree, Rebekah plans to further her education through a master’s in K-12 Project Based Learning with the goal to teach in a magnet school with specialized curriculums for gifted students.

A senior accounting major from Xian, China, Jingtong “Wendy” Hu holds the distinction of being Baylor Round Table’s first international scholarship recipient. Active in the international student community, Wendy serves as external vice president of the International Student Association and as one of the Center for Global Engagement Ambassadors to help students from across the globe apply and enroll in Baylor.
This fall, Wendy was selected as a member of the Baylor Honor Council to ensure academic integrity and hear and make determinations in cases. Not only does this superior student participate in the Waco Chinese Church, she leads weekly Bible study and children’s ministry. Always curious, Jingtong took a Korean class and a “Chinese contemporary cultures and society class to learn and understand more about the diverse cultures related to my origins.”
Congratulations to these two exceptional students. Baylor Round Table is grateful to be part of their Baylor journeys and looks forward to all they accomplish personally and professionally in the future.
